For Daniel's breakfast we made cake mix pancakes and eggs. He loves making
thing into shapes so we did mickey mouse. The pancakes were pretty good but the
glaze was a little too sweet. I will have to make a different glaze next time. I think
we will make this our new tradition.
That afternoon Uncle Brian and Aunt Julia brought over the birthday present
from me and Dennis. Ever since a big tortoise was brought to preschool he
had been wanting one. I did tell him he would not get a big tortoise. Julia had
a boxer turtle she had for kindergarten and said we could have it. It is a type of
tortoise so it works. Daniel does correct me when I call it a turtle. He loves it.
Daniel is pretty good at feeding him everyday and taking him out to wonder outside.
That afternoon we had the baby blessing and then after everyone went home
Grandma gave Daniel his present. She gave some swim short and some tissue. She
told Daniel that he needed to wipe his nose. So he did. And then she said he
needed another tissue which had money taped to it. He kept walking and wiping
his nose. He really didn't pay attention to the money until we made a comment about
the money and then he was excited. He loves money. Grandpa asked for some
and Daniel was more then happy to share.
Justin also got a late birthday present.
The next evening we celebrated his birthday with some cousins. Daniel saw this
cake and wanted it so we bought it for him. With everything going on this year
I was not making any cakes this year.
