05 15 2011 Lets Go Fly a Kite

Uncle Josh & Aunt Suzi came home with kites for the kids to fly. It was a very windy day but it was fun. Daniel had a hard time staying in one place so the line never got tight. But with a little help we got it up a few times.

Dennis had to chase after the kite.

What is a little kite flying without having to get it out of a tree.

I, for some reason, just really like this picture.

05 14 2011 Justin's 1st Birthday

I know Justin's birthday was last week but we celebrated it today. We woke up to a house full of balloons. Justin was in heaven. He loved all the balls that were light and he could carry and throw.

Then we had some Yummy pancakes that we made into faces.

Then we had a picnic lunch.

Can you guess what is in the wrapping paper?

The ball was a huge hit. He rolled it and chased it all over.

Then we made homemade pizza for dinner and opened more gifts. He was a pro by the end of the day.

Then the cake. So this was our attempt at the Hungry Catapiller. Not too bad for 11pm at night.

Justin had no issues digging in. He started by picking at it but then grabbed the head. What a mess.

So the baby was a bit fussy (I know, it couldn't have been my baby) and Grace sat and sang songs to him. Yes, it looks like shes reading but she is actually making up a song using the book.
What a good Mama.

05 09 2011 Zion Park

Before we headed back home we hit up Zion National Park. What a beautiful place. We went through a tunnel that Daniel loved. I was worried he would get car sick from the switchbacks but instead I started to get sick. We headed to a trail to the Emerald Pools waterfalls and it decided to rain. When the rain lightened up we headed out on the trail. Daniel was saying "We need to be quiet, don't wake up the animals." Too cute. Once we got to the falls, the boys minus Justin headed out under the waterfalls. They came back soaked. But I guess it really didn't matter because it rained and hailed on us on our way back. We then took the bus and saw some views. I definately want to go back. Especially when I have my camera. These picts were taken with Dennis' phone.

Oh, did you notice the kids in their fancy rain gear. Plastic garbage bags. Thanks Karen for getting them.

05 08 2011 Happy Birthday Justin and Happy Mothers Day

Happy Birthday Justin!! He turned 1 today. I can't believe it has been a year. Its been wonderful having Justin in our family. I just love how he will cuddle with me. I'm trying to soak it in because I know it won't last. He loves anything with buttons, loves to dance, he loves his big brother. Justin is such a happy little boy and I love him to pieces.

My brothers family has a traditon of having cupcakes for breakfast on birthdays and I loved that idea. So we are starting this year. Poor Justin touched the candle and the wax was a little hot, which is way he has tears in the pictures.

Oh, and these pictures would not have happen except for Karen taking them. Thanks Karen. I had left my memory card at home.

But the tears didn't last too long.

Once he got started he had no problems. Unlike Daniel on his first birthday. This was kind of exciting.

What a mess, and this was only a cupcake.

Now on to mothers day. It was quite nice not really having to do anything. I couldn't even talk because I was sick and lost my voice. Dennis had to take care of things. Wonderful. For mothers day Karen made these yummy breakfast biscuts ( I think). They had biscuts, eggs, bacon, and cheese. Yummy!! Later that afternoon we headed over to Karen's mom for dinner. We started by going on a walk to a near by river. It was sooo windy but it was fun. We also climbed some rocks to see some Indian Writing. Then back for dinner. Yummy chicken cordon bleu and a bunch of sides. We did not leave hungry. We also played a game called the T-shirt Game. It was fun. I'm told its like Apples to Apples but with pictures. It was fun and it helped that I won.

It was so windy Justin could not even open his eyes. Poor kid.

I know this is a little out of order but Daniel was in heaven when they pulled out their Geo-Track. Karen and Wayne were kind enough to leave it up a couple of days.

05 07 2011 Car Trouble

What is a road trip without car trouble. We turned a corner and the brakes lock. Scary. So, with the help of one brother on the phone and the other there to help, our car is back in working order.

05 06 2011 Waynes Graduation

Way to go Wayne!!

Justin played with a water bottle. He knows there is something in there but it just won't come out.

05 05 2011

We headed to Karen and Wayne's for Wayne's graduation. When we got there it was such a beautiful day we played outside. Tyler talked Dennis into playing flag football. It was fun to watch. Did you notice the little girl in the background. Yes, she was playing also. Genevieve was the cutest thing to watch. She wanted to hang with the boys. She was pretty good. She was able to throw the football over Dennis' head. She also had ended up with a bloody nose and wanted to keep playing. What a trooper.

Genevieve also amazed me with her ability to hit the ball. Who needs a tee. She was pretty good.Daniel tried but we need to work a little more with him. I just love both of their facial expressions.

We also found that Justin loves balls. He played with their basketballs all weekend. He would pick them up and throw it or just push it away so he could chase it. Too cute.

This is Justin's new way of crawling. I love it. My little Monkey.
